Now that Andy Pettitte has decided to retire from baseball, the Yankees are left with another hole in their rotation. According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports, the Yankees have looked into Joe Saunders, Scott Kazmir, Wade LeBlanc, Clayton Richard and Gio Gonzalez as possibilities for team’s rotation.
ESPN’s Buster Olney writes that the Yankees will probably wait and hope that A.J. Burnett improves from his last year performances. Olney suggests that they might kick the tires on Joe Blanton or sign free agent Kevin Millwood as well.
As recently as this week, reports had the team considering Millwood. The free agent right-hander had a dismal second-half of 2010. He finished the year with a 4-16 record and a 5.10 ERA.
