It has been a while since the rumors involving Padres’ relievers started, and according to sources close to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports, up to this point the Rangers, Yankees, Brewers, Cardinals and Phillies have contacted the Padres about their bullpen arms.
Morosi says that the Padres are not yet exchanging offers with other clubs, but that could change by the end of their current 10-game trip. After the All-Star break discussions regarding their relievers are likely to intensify he says.
With a thin market in quality starting pitching, the Yankees likely will pursue relievers aggressively adds Morosi. We discussed last week the Yankees’ possibilities of adding a left handed pitcher. They need someone besides Boone Logan and C.C. Sabathia to work from the left side, especially when that could be a way to beat the Red Sox.
