The Florida Marlins have interest in troubled starting pitcher, Carlos Zambrano, of the Chicago Cubs, according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald. This was first reported by Ignacio Serrano of El Nacional on October 3, 2011.  Any deal with the Cubs will likely require Chicago to absorb much of the $18 million that is owed to the pitcher.

The 30-year-old has been in the doghouse with the Cubs for some time now, but the problems escalated in August when he was placed on the disqualified list after a bad start and ejection.

New manager Ozzie Guillen could be an influence on both the team and Zambrano to get the pitcher to South Beach.
