According to a source close to Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports, the Pittsburgh Pirates have release left-handed pitcher Joe Beimel.
Beimel was designated for assignment on August 23. In 35 games with Pittsburgh this season, Beimel had a 1-1 record with a 5.33 ERA.
