The Houston Astros have released right-handed pitcher Cesar Carrillo, according to Greg Rajan of the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.
The Astros claimed the Carrillo in late September of 2010 from the San Diego Padres.
Carillo, 27 today, pitched one season with the Padres in 2009 and went 1-2 witha 13.06 ERA in three starts.

In a Tweet by Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, he reports that Cesar Carrillo has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
The Astros signed Carrillo to a one-year, $414,000 deal in late February. It was more a technicality at the time since Carrillo is not eligible for salary arbitration.

Right-handed pitcher Cesar Carrillo ($414,000), infielder Matt Downs ($421,000) and right- handed pitcher Lance Pendleton ($414,000).
