MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart tweets that infielder Anderson Hernandez has been designated by the Houston Astros.
Hernandez was claimed by the Astros off waivers last month after he was designated for assignment by the Indians.
Hernandez, 27, was batting .230/.260/.284 in 28 games with the Indians and Astros this season.

According to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, the Houston Astros have claimed infielder Anderson Hernandez and relief pitcher Nelson Figueroa off waivers. Both players will be added to the 25-man roster.

According to Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com, the Cleveland Indians have designated second baseman Mark Grudzielanek for assignment. In a parallel move, the team purchased the contract of Anderson Hernandez from Triple-A Columbus.
Cleveland signed Grudzielanek to a Minor League contract last January.
Grudzielanek, 39, appeared in 30 games for the Indians. He hit .273 with 11 RBIs.

Paul Hoynes of The Plain Dealer says that catcher Wyatt Toregas and infielder Anderson Hernandez have cleared waivers. Hernandez will be sent to Class AAA Columbus and Toregas will be sent to Class AA Akron.
The Indians designated Toregas and Hernandez for assignment on April 3.

Paul Hoynes of The Plain Dealer says the Cleveland Indians have added outfielder Austin Kearns and infielder Mark Grudzielanek to the team’s 40-man roster. Kearns will make $750,000 and Grudzielanek will make $600,000 this season.
The Indians also designated Wyatt Toregas and Anderson Hernandez for assignment to create room for Kearns and Grudzielanek.
