Right-handed pitcher Ryota Igarashi has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo, according to a source close to ESPNNewYork.com’s Adam Rubin.
Igarashi was designated for assignment on January 3, but it wasn’t expected that a team would claim him since he brings a $1.75 million salary for 2011 with him.

In 2010, Igarashi was 1-1 in 34 relief appearances for the Mets. He had 25 strikeouts and a 7.12 ERA over 30 1/3 innings pitched.
