The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded right-handed pitcher Jose Veras to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for third baseman Casey McGehee, according to a team press release by the Brewers. The Brewers agreed to a three-year deal with Aramis Ramirez earlier today.  That move made McGehee expandable for Milwaukee. Image by Steve Paluch under the Creative Commons License.

With the Winter Meetings already underway, Tom Haudricourt of the Journal Sentinel asked Brewers GM, Doug Melvin, if he was going to meet with Prince Fielder’s agent, Scott Boras, and he said, “I don’t know. I don’t have plans on it.” If that means the Brewers are moving on even though Fielder’s market is shrinking, as [...]

A yelling match turned into a rare bench clearing situation between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers during their Spring Training game on Tuesday. According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Dodgers’ reliever Roman Colon pumped his fist after a rally-killing strikeout which prompted Brewers’ third baseman Casey McGehee to yell in his direction. Brewer first [...]

It looks like a disgruntled fan had access to the press box at Milwaukee’s Miller Park, and decided to play a prank on Chicago Cubs’ GM Jim Hendry by inserting a game day press release describing a fake book authored by the GM. The release said (via Paul Sullivan of The Chicago Tribune): “A new book certain [...]
