MLB.com’s Jenifer Langosch reports that former Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder, Brandon Moss, has signed a Minor League deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Moss, 27, played in 17 games for the Pirates in 2010 after he was called up in September. He went on to hit .154/.185/.192.

According to Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pirates have designated second baseman Akinori Iwamura and catcher Erik Kratz for assignment.

Jennifer Langosch of MLB.com says that the Pittsburgh Pirates have designated outfielder Brandon Moss for assignment. The move was done to accommodate the recent waiver claim of right-handed pitcher Hayden Penn.
