The Washington Nationals have signed Xavier Nady to a minor league deal, Amanda Comak of the Washington Times reports. Nady will report directly to minor league camp.
Bill Ladson of MLB.com notes that the deal does not include any out dates and Nady will start the season at Triple-A.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed Lyle Overbay, according to Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports. In a corresponding move, the team announced that they have designated Juan Jaime for assignment.
Overbay will fill the void that Xavier Nady left when he was placed on the DL with a broken hand and will miss six weeks.

According to sources close to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports, the Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to a one-year deal with Xavier Nady. The possibility deal was first reported by Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated adds that Nady will receive $1.75 million.

According to Arizona Republic’s Nick Piecoro the Diamondbacks are looking for a backup catcher, and he’s been told that free agent Henry Blanco is one of their primary targets.
