The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired Jayson Nix from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for cash, the team reports via Twitter.
Paul Hoynes of the Plain Dealer mentioned yesterday that the team would try to trade Nix before designating him for assignment.

6/24 15:31: According to Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com, the Cleveland Indians have designated right-handed pitcher Shane Lindsay for assignment. The move was to make room on the 40-man roster for newly signed Jayson Nix.
Lindsay, 25, was a combined 0-1 with a 5.50 ERA in 18 appearances for Double-A Akron and Triple-A Colorado Springs in 2010.

According to Chicago White Sox VP Scott Reifert (via his Twitter page), the Cleveland Indians have claimed Jayson Nix off of waivers.
Nix was designated for assignment by the White Sox on June 17. The 28-year-old was hitting .163/.263/.245 in 24 games for the White Sox this season.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Jayson Nix was designated for assignment by the Chicago White Sox. In Nix’s palce, Dayan Viciedo has been called up from Triple-A Charlotte.
