The Colorado Rockies have signed right-handed pitcher Claudio Vargas to a Minor League contract, according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com.
The 32-year-old Vargas ha a lifetime record of 48-40 with a 4.83 ERA in 217 appearances (114 starts) over eight big league season.

According to the Pacific Coast League transaction page, the Los Angeles Dodgers have released RHP Claudio Vargas.
The Dodgers signed Vargas in mid-June after the Milwaukee Brewers released him.

According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Brewers have given right-handed pitcher Claudio Vargas his unconditional release.
The Brewers were rumored to be shopping Vargas this week, but Haudricourt says the team could not work out a trade. Vargas was designated for assignment on Saturday to make room for Chris Capuano.

According to Tyler Barnes, VP of communications for the Milwaukee Brewers, the team has designated right-handed pitcher Claudio Vargas for assignment.
Vargas, 31, was 1-0 with a 7.32 ERA in 17 appearances with the Brewers in 2010.
