The Philadelphia Phillies just announced seven more non-roster players to their Spring Training roster according to Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The seven players are Brian Bass, Tuffy Gosewisch, Joel Naughton, former Angels Robb Quinlan, Michael Schwimer, Michael Stutes and former Pirates Delwyn Young.

According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Phillies, Marlins and Brewers are all talking to Delwyn Young. Young was placed on waviers along with fellow ex-Dodger Andy LaRoche.

Recently acquired left handed pitcher Zach Duke has agreed to a one-year deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks according to MLB.com’s Steve Gilbert. The contract will include a mutual option for 2012. The D’backs quickly signed Duke in order to avoid arbitration with the hurler.

According to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com, the Pittsburgh Pirates add Michael Crotta, Jeff Locke, Kyle McPherson, Daniel Moskos and Tony Watson to the team’s 40-man roster and in doing so, they have designated Zach Duke, Andy LaRoche and Delwyn Young for assignment.
